- WebMail Upgrade Complete!
We have completed the upgrade to our WebMail program. The new version
has useful features such as:
- SpamCop - Spam Reporting
Help fight the battle against unsolicited e-mail. SpamCop reads
the spam e-mail and determines the correct addresses for complaints.
Quite fast, really smart, and easy to use.
- Message Highlighting
Based upon given criteria, incoming messages can have different
background colors in the message list. This helps to easily distinguish
who sent the messages, especially for mailing lists.
- Spell Checker Options
Here you may set up how your personal dictionary is stored, edit
it, or choose which languages should be available to you when spell-checking.
- Display Preferences
You can change the way that SquirrelMail looks and displays information
to you, such as the colors, the language, and other settings.
There are more new features and options
to make your WebMail experience all it should be. Visit https://webmail.natcotech.com
to give our Web based e-mail service a try. Remember, you can always
call the Internet Tech Support line for help with any of our Internet
services. Call 425-7325 in Baxter County, 453-8822 in Flippin, or

Super Tech: Lorene James She's one of
the voices on the other end of the line that eases your frustration
and patiently guides you in the right direction when you have an
Internet problem. There's nothing too big or too small that Lorene won't
try to help you with. She understands that when you're having trouble
doing what you want to do, it can make you feel aggravated and
helpless...This month we say, "Thank you Lorene for being the Super Tech
you are!" We also thought it was about time that you learned a little
more about the woman behind the calming voice you may have come to know
so well.
Lorene James of Green Forest joined us August 28, 2000
and enjoys her job as Internet Services Representative.
Computers hooked Lorene about 13 years ago. At that time, she
had returned to college and was working on a paper for a class - a paper
due the next day. The computer at her home glitched, and she seemed to
be stuck in a predicament. She decided to try to figure out how to fix
it, and did so. "It totally shocked me," she confided. Ever since, she's
been hooked on computers. She has four at home.
Lorene encourages NATCO Technologies customers to call NATCO Tech
Support at 425-7325 in Baxter County, 453-8822 in Flippin, or 1-800-775-6682
for Yellville, Harrison and other areas. Our techs help with trouble-shooting
and Internet connections and help customers make computer technology
meet their needs.
Lorene and her husband
"Jessie" have been married 36 years and have four children: Tina, Adam,
Jacob and Amber. Lorene's hobby is oil painting, creating mostly
landscapes.

Winning E-Story: submitted by Ruth Byrnes
E-Story: I am a home novice Internet and computer user, but my e-mail
has become a very important part of my life. Our daughter is stationed
with the 101st Airborne in Iraq and my only correspondence with her
is through e-mail service. She has been there for 6 months and has
another 6 months to go. I don't think I could handle the situation
if there was no correspondence. Thank you for efficient service.(submitted

that you reply to added to your address book instantly. Just click
Tools and then click Options. Now, click on the
Send tab. Click the box next to Automatically put people I
reply to in my Address Book.
- Tech Tip for Avoiding
Viruses
Look out for attachments with certain file
extensions – although viruses can be found in many file
formats, they most commonly come in files attached to e-mails with
one of the following file extensions (the last three letters of a
filename). The rule to live by is: when in doubt, don’t
open, even if you think the message is coming from a trustworthy
source.
- .doc – You may recognize
this as the file extension for Microsoft Word files. The
documents themselves are harmless, but they can contain “macros” which
can carry viruses. As a precaution, disable macros in your
Word program.
- .pif, .scr & .vbs –
Files with these extensions could access many
built-in features of Windows including certain functions in
Outlook Express. This is how a well known virus called Bugbear sends
itself around.
- .exe & .com – These are the most dangerous because
they are executable files. They could have the ability to do many
invasive things to your computer without your knowledge or
permission.
