  • Learn how to use the Find Next feature on a Web site, stop the spread of viruses, use AutoComplete, get more relevant search results, protect your PC from lightning and more at our Technical Support Bulletin Board.

  • When you open your e-mail program, does it take half an hour to download all of your messages because of the junk mail that you receive? If so, there is something you can do about it. Your first option is to block the senders.

In Outlook Express, highlight a junk message. Click Message in the tool bar and then select Block sender. You can block as many senders as you like. If you accidentally block the wrong sender you can easily take them off the block senders list. Simply click Tools in the tool bar and then select Message Rules. In the drop down menu that appears, click Blocked Senders List. The Message Rules dialog block will open and you will see the Blocked Senders List. To remove a sender from this list, highlight the sender and click Remove. The sender will now be allowed to send you e-mail again.

Many 'spammers' send junk mail from several different addresses. If using the block sender feature doesn't significantly reduce the amount of junk mail you receive, another option is to change your e-mail address. NATCO Technologies allows you to change your login for a small fee of $10.00. If you decide to change your login, be sure to notify family and friends of your new address.

Remember, to avoid receiving junk messages or 'spam,' don't give out your e-mail address to anyone or to any Web site on the Internet unless you want to receive e-mail from them. And if you do give out your e-mail address online, make sure the Web site has an adequate privacy policy that protects your information.

  • If your connection speed makes you feel like you're crawling down the information highway, remember that you have more than one option when you decide that it's time to pick up the pace. ISDN is available to most businesses and residents in the NATCO service area.
