  • Summer Computer Tips:
      • Provide adequate ventilation for your computer's fans. Make sure your system's ventilation is not blocked by allowing space around your CPU tower. You can quickly test to be sure your power supply fan is working properly by putting your hand around the back of your computer and checking for a breeze coming out of the back of the power supply.

      • Keep your computer out of direct sunlight. Direct sunlight blazing down on a system will lead the system to overheat and fail to function properly. Remember, heat is your computer's enemy!  Keep your computer as cool as possible to help your system last longer and perform better!

  • Summer Internet Tips
Now that school's out and the children will spend more time than ever surfing the net, it is important to make sure their online time is productive and safe.
      • Move the computer to a family area of the home. It is best to have the system in an area accessible by all family members. This way, using the computer does not become an isolating experience and supervising children while online is easier.

      • Do a little research for your children. Find kid focused sites like: Smithsonian Education and Disney, or use a search engine to look up a hobby of theirs and jot down a few sites from your search.

      • If your child needs extra help this summer with a particular school subject, find online tutorials for them. This is a great way to give them a jump start for next year.

      • Remember to balance online time with other summer activities. If the children resist taking a break, tell them to do a search for an activity they can do off of the computer...origami is a great example!

  • Winning E-Story Submitted by: Bernadine Milota of Bull Shoals

Thank you NATCO Dial Up Internet Service as it has kept me in touch with my son who is in college in Iowa and my family and friends that are in Iowa and California. My son in college is on his own for the first time in his life but he knows he can communicate with me as much as he wants and needs via the Internet. For those of us who cannot afford high long distance bills but still want to keep in touch with loved ones and friends back home, NATCO has made the transition to a new home in Arkansas much easier.

As I am learning about Arkansas and the area in which I live, I can still be informed as to what is happening back in my hometown in Iowa. I can talk to my son over the Internet and it seems that sometimes we actually communicate on a much deeper level than if we were on the phone. Perhaps it is that there aren't as many distractions while using the computer as there are while using a cordless phone and doing other things at the same time. I thank NATCO for the excellent service, help desk and the ability to communicate with far away friends and family. NATCO Dial Up Internet Service has been the LIFE LINE between our family and friends for my two sons and myself.

  • Bernadine just earned two free months of NATCO Internet service! Submit your E-Story today and you could be our next winner! Remember that you can enter more than once. • Useful Web Sites
    http://www.ozarkregionaldirectory.com/
NATCO's Online Yellow Pages - the same yellow pages found in the directory - are now online so you can find the local businesses you need in an easy to read format without leaving your computer. The online yellow pages allow you to browse by categories listed alphabetically - like the yellow pages in the directory - or you can search for a category name.

If you already know which business you are looking for, skip the categories and jump right to searching by business name! What could be faster or easier?
