Natco Notes

  • Need some help? Call NATCO Tech Support at 453-8822, 425-7325 or
    449-5087 for assistance.
  • NATCO has changed its due date policy. Billing due dates are now
structured to allow eight extra days to pay your bill. Late bills will be
calculated at the rate of 10 percent for the first $30 and 2 percent of
the remaining balance. Questions? Call us at 1-800-775-6682.
  • A warning: If your Web hosting bill becomes late, your service could be
interrupted. Should this happen, your search engine registration could be
negatively affected. Customers who have an uninterrupted presence online
tend to have better search engine registration as time progresses. Don't
risk your search engine presence! Pay your bills on time.

Dialup: We have a winner!

Congratulations to William Dudones of Flippin, who received six months'
free Internet access for participating in our annual Internet customer
survey. We appreciate all customers who took time to give us some feedback
on our Internet service.

If you have any trouble with your service, feel free to call us at
1-800-775-6682.

Web pages: Online answering machine

A new Internet-based service allows Internet users to use their primary
phone line for Internet access without missing phone calls and avoid
purchasing a second phone line.

The service, which is free of charge, is simple to use. After completing a
short setup process at www.callwave.com, you can use your phone to access
the Internet.

When callers try to reach you, instead of hearing a busy signal, they will
hear a short CallWave greeting, after which they can leave a short
message. It works similarly to a standard answering machine, but when you
receive the message, you will be able to play it through your computer's
speakers. Receiving the message immediately means you can choose to
disconnect from the Internet if you like.

CallWave provides unlimited technical support for the service. For more
information, visit CallWave's Web site at www.callwave.com.

Note: NATCO does not provide technical support or information about
Internet services such as this one.

Web pages: Twenty-five #1s?

Some Internet companies claim they can get your Web site ranked number one
by search engines by submitting your site to many directories at once.
This is just one kind of inflated claim made by companies trying to grab
your attention-usually in a SPAM (unsolicited) e-mail.

In truth, there is no one way that any company can ensure a particular
rank in a search engine. As the Web grows, a large number of companies are
competing for top placement. What is number one today could well be at the
bottom of the list tomorrow.

There are intelligent strategies for improving registration in the search
engines, but there are no guarantees. The bottom line is that you should
discuss any messages you receive unsolicited with your Web developer to
find out if their claims are true.
