Notes
- Need some
help? Call NATCO Tech Support at 453-8822, 425-7325 or
449-5087 for assistance.
- Thunderstorm
season has arrived, which could spell T-R-O-U-B-L-E for
your computer system if it's not properly protected. We can't
over-emphasize the importance of a good surge protector for your
computer, which can offer albeit limited protection during storms. To
be
absolutely safe, however, we strongly recommend unplugging both your
computer and your phone line at the first signs of storms.
- To protect
your account, we only accept change of service requests
from those people listed on your account. To add an additional person's
name
to your account, the primary account holder must contact NATCO. If you
have questions about who has permission to make changes to your NATCO
account, call our Customer Service department at (800) 775-6682.
- A special
note: June 15th is the last day for yellow page sales for
next year's Ozark Regional Telephone Directory, the official telephone
directory of NATCO and Yelcot. Also, if you want to request changes
to
your white page listings, June 15th is also the deadline. For information,
call (800) 775-6682.
E-mail: Upgrades equal new configuration
A recent
server upgrade prompted a significant change to NATCO's e-mail
system.
While NATCO
technicians e-mailed all customers notifying them of the
required configuration changes, some customers still are experiencing
difficulty receiving their e-mail. To make sure your e-mail settings
comply with the new configuration standards, please read the information
available at: http://www.natcotech.com/mail-update.html.

Dial-up: Bulletin board offers 24/7 access to support information
A new feature
on the Natco Technologies Web site allows customers 24/7
access to information provided by technical support staff at NATCO.
Natco Tech
support staff answer common customer questions by posting the
question and their response to a threaded bulletin board discussion area,
located at www.natcotech.com/bboard.htm. Other customers can then access
help topics online at their convenience.
To e-mail
a question to the tech staff for help, visit the Web site and
follow the directions.
The Natco
Technologies site also provides weekly tips on its homepage,
located at http://www.natcotech.com,
on topics ranging from virus
protection to speeding up your service.
Web pages:
Pay your bill online!
NATCO customers
can pay their bills online now, thanks to a secure
feature available on the NATCO Technologies Web site, located at http://www.natcotech.com/payonline.htm.
All you need is your NATCO account
number (check your bill) and a major credit card. Your payment will show
up on your next month's bill.
Web pages:
Bonzi Buddy or foe?
Several customers
have installed Bonzi Buddy on their computer, a
cartoon helper for computer novices, only to find that their "buddy"
is really a
foe. The program, available for download online, causes two problems:
First, it consumes a lot of memory and system resources, slowing down
your computer's overall performance, and second, it is difficult-almost
impossible-to delete totally from your computer once installed.
If a friend
e-mails you Bonzi Buddy, or if you're considering installing this program,
make sure that your system can handle his largesse, and that you're willing
to take the time to evict him should his presence become an annoyance
rather
than a help.
