September 2002 - Improved Services
  • For Web Hosting Customers:
We have reduced our price for data transfers. Until recently, data transfers over the limit of the package amount were $20 per additional gigabyte. We are happy to inform you that this price is now only $5 per additional gigabyte.

If you have any questions about this rate reduction and how it might affect you, please call customer service at 1-800-775-6682.

  • Bigger isn't necessarily better. This is the best way to describe Internet Service Providers. Even though AOL Time Warner spends millions on television commercials and other advertisements insisting that it is America's "most popular" with 30 million subscribers, PC Magazine readers surveyed seem to strongly disagree. AOL failed every support and reliability category in the PC Magazine survey. MSN Internet Access did not fare much better with negative ratings in eight out of ten categories. The overall lesson here is that perhaps more money and effort should be focused on customer service and reliability and less on flashy advertisements. PC Magazine’s annual survey

NATCO Technologies has always held reliability and customer satisfaction as top priorities. We know that as we grow, we must continue to strive for the best possible service.

Web Pages

  • Learn about Lake Norfork by visiting the newest addition to NATCO’s family of South Shore Sites! www.lakenorfork.com

  • The Baxter County Library can be accessed on the Internet at www.baxtercountylibrary.org. A new feature allows easy and convenient access to the catalog. This is a great way to put the Internet to work for you because now you can search for your book before you go to the library.

  • Are you fed up with those annoying X10 ads? These are the little advertisements that pop up behind your active browser window. You usually don’t notice them until you try to close out of Internet Explorer and then there they are – all those extra windows to close. Here’s a way to disable them from appearing on your computer for a month at a time. Go to: http://www.x10.com/x10ads.htm and click the link at the top of the page. This link will set a cookie on your computer that keeps those annoying ads out for 30 days. Once you start seeing them again, simply revisit the link and turn them off again!

E-Mail
  • Here's another great way to fight back against spam! Check out MailWasher. This is a program that allows you to check multiple accounts and bounce spam messages back to the sender so the address appears invalid. This program is very beneficial for end users who want to reduce the amount of spam they receive. MailWasher is available for a free download at: http://www.mailwasher.net.

NATCO Technologies does not endorse or recommend any software or program. The purpose of the preceding article is to keep our customers informed. We do not provide free technical support for software or programs such as MailWasher. Please see the NATCO Internet brochure (call to have one mailed to you) for full details on what is and is not covered by our free Internet Technical Support.
